Riverhouse

Riverhouse is a peaceful, private place with spaces to relax in rural mountain solitude. Attentive service to your stay’s details is the repute of this cozy retreat on the North Thompson River, in a small farming area at the south end of Barriere, B.C. The river flows by in its characteristic winding way, salmon migrate by every fall, a bird watcher’s paradise resides.

This old neighbourhood is 14 small farms with sheep, donkeys, horses, turkeys, chickens, ducks, geese – you’ll hear them. Our acre farm grows culinary herbs, haskap berries and vegetables in its greenhouses and gardens. Your host is a classically trained chef, ask for a tour.

55 kilometres to the southeast is Sun Peaks, 65 kilometres to the north is the entrance to Wells Gray Provincial Park and the Barriere Outdoor Club’s crosscountry and snowshoe trails offer a great trek along the pristine Barriere River 18 kms east of town. Fishing is world-class and close by.
